Oh! And who is this? It looks like they’re having a blast! It’s hard to take your eyes off them.
This is Inka and Joel – a high-energy duo from Finland. Their work reflects the same joy and creativity that accompany them in their daily lives. They had many different ideas for their future, ranging from cosmetology, acting, and music to even farming. Both wanted to become teachers, but at the last minute, they decided to study at a circus arts academy. Fortunately so, because otherwise they might never have met, and we wouldn’t get to enjoy their wonderful acrobatic act. Their love for the circus began at a very young age, though each took a slightly different path toward a professional career. They have been working together for over three years, and for two of those years, they have also been partners in life.
What they love about contemporary circus is the ability to connect with the audience in various ways, telling stories and evoking emotions. Their style is a humorous blend of traditional entertainment techniques and artistic storytelling. The performance we are about to see is a playful journey in which two comical characters get to know one another – all paired with high-level ground acrobatics.
They relax by taking walks in nature, watching movies or series, eating sweets, reading books… and above all, they love going to the sauna and swimming. During more active free time, Inka goes rock climbing, while Joel composes songs.
