Jeka Dehtiarov

Winner of the 3rd Prize at the Eastern European New Circus Etudes Competition “Cyrkulacje”.

As a child, he wanted to become a veterinarian, but he became… a dancer. During one of his assignments, he met a group of circus performers, among whom he found a prop for which he lost his head – Cyr wheel. Since then, without teachers and any official circus education, Jeka has been practising and teaching himself to manipulate this spectacular object. The contemporary circus captivates him with the power of dialogue between dance, music and a prop.
